the life of a nanny

just the musings of the life of a nanny

I’ve been home sick the last few days and last night I told Caleb that I really kinda enjoy being a stay-at-home-dog-lover-and-garden-keeper. (other than the whole, sore throat, running nose, coughing up a lung, throwing up part.) Caleb responded by saying he wished he made enough money for that to happen.

Literally though, I water my garden 5+ times a day! It needs it in this HotHotHeat!

….and had a PAR-TEE!

His mom, Courtney- party planner extraordinaire, had been planning his party since he was about 6 months old. And let me tell you, SHE WENT ALL OUT! They currently are living in Atlanta, but came to celebrate his party here, since lots of their family and friends reside here.

It was a fabulous time enjoyed by all!

Downing holds a very special place in my heart. He is the first boy I ever nannied for, and the absolute sweetest little man you will ever meet. His heart is filled with gold and he has the best, most genuine smile you will ever have flashed upon you. I would love to still be nannying for him, but his family moved to Atlanta for a wonderful job opportunity. I became very close to his mom, Courtney, who is the absolute sweetest friend anyone could have. I miss them very much, and am happy to have them as part of my life. Every time they come into town, we always meet up, and it melts my heart that Downing remembers me!

This is Downing, 3 months, the first day I nannied for him! πŸ™‚

A couple Sundays ago, my family decided to drive over to St. George Island Beach for the day. Beach Season was just beginning, so it wasn’t too crowded and ended up being a PERFECT day!

Biker Grandma May 21, 2011

Calebs grandma turned 82 at the beginning of May! We all got together and celebrated the Sunday before her Birthday, because her actual Birthday was the kick-off to the new Bike Night at Millar’s Ale House.Β Calebs mom played a major role in putting together the kick off for the bike night! So thats why we celebrated early.

On Grandma Iris’ actual Birthday, Caleb and I went over to her house early to help her transform into ‘Biker Grandma’ complete with a Harley Davidson shirt and fake tattoos!

Saturday, April 30th I spent my morning with sweet Rawlins. He is 100% BOY and I love it. He adores being outside: running, playing with a ball, chasing the dogs, playing in the grass, you name it- he is game!

He lives on a ton of acreage and I truly LOVE being out at his house, its so breath taking.

Easter 2011 May 15, 2011

Started the day off at my parents, where they the Easter Bunny hid eggs for my nieces. They throughly enjoyed running around picking up eggs, to see who could get the most, at the end, my parents made them split them equally.

who got the first egg?!!

oh no, Ainsley dropped all her eggs

(when my Father saw this picture, he laughed and said “WOW does my hair really look like that from the back?!?” – uh yes dad, it does in fact look like that- i told him i liked it, and i do. Salt on the top, pepper on the bottom!)

Meet Jax!

My brothers new dog! He just turned one, and is very lazy, but we love him. Welcome to the family!

Caleb, photo taken by my 7 year old niece, Taylor!

After a brunch at my parents, Caleb and I headed over to his Grandparents where they hid Easter eggs for us, we each got to hunt for 6 eggs and inside the eggs are little pieces of folded paper with a money amount written on them, when you open them, you cash in with Grandpa. I must point out, that i was the big winner last year, my first time playing, and this year they decided to be fair and wrote $20 on each piece of folded paper, so we all ended up with $120! BALLERS!

we are READY!

hunting with Grandpa!

Grandpa takes pride in hiding the eggs, and man does he have us twenty-something-year-old hunting hard for them. He has a few of the same hiding spots each year, but this year he got tricky! We were on our hands and knees hunting them!

Carrabelle RiverWalk Art Festival May 13, 2011

welcome to Carrabelle

Welcome to Carrabelle

Caleb took a Saturday, March 23, off work, and we were in talks all week about going to the beach for the day. Friday night, my mom tells me that Carrabelle is having an Art Festival and so i google searched it and sure enough, they were. So Saturday morning, we woke up around 9:30am and drove to Carrabelle. It was a fantastic day. The Art Festival wasn’t all that great, but being on the coast was amazing!

After the CRWAF, we drove a little further down the coast to head to Apalachicola for some yummy lunch. We ate at a quaint little place and then walked around the small town square and did a little shopping πŸ™‚

It was a beautiful day, nice and sunny with a brisk wind. Caleb and I truly enjoyed ourselves for the day, just getting out of Tallahassee, we made a promise to do it more often πŸ™‚
